Leadership & Organizational internship program

A Program of the Dubuque Miners Organization

Developing future leaders through hands-on experience, mentorship, and community-driven service.

The Leadership & Organizational Internship Program provides opportunities for individuals to gain real world leadership, operations, event support, and program management experience while contributing to the Dubuque Miners Amateur Football Program and the Community Outreach and Service Program.
Interns learn through meaningful, purpose-based involvement building professional skills while supporting athletics, nonprofit operations, and community engagement across the Dubuque and Tri-State region.

The Internship Program exists to:

  • develop emerging leaders through hands-on learning and mentorship

  • provide real-world experience in nonprofit and program operations

  • build career-ready skills through service-based leadership

  • support organizational needs across multiple programs

  • create pathways for future volunteers, leaders, and staff

Areas of Internship Participation

Amateur Football Program Operations

  • gameday operations and logistics

  • sideline and equipment support roles

  • administrative and communication assistance

  • team event coordination

  • practice/event setup roles

  • media, photography, or content assistance (where applicable)

Interns gain experience working inside a structured athletic program environment.


community outreach & service suport

Interns learn how service, leadership, and community engagement work together.

  • assisting at community events and volunteer projects

  • helping coordinate outreach participation

  • engaging with youth and families at events

  • supporting community partners and host organizations

  • helping track outreach involvement and participation


nonprofit & organizational development exposure

As capacity allows, interns may also gain experience in:

  • program planning and coordination

  • communication, scheduling, or admin support

  • event collaboration with community partners

  • understanding nonprofit structure and purpose

The goal is to help participants understand how a mission-driven organization functions.

Inters are supported through:
